10 Point Commitment To Our Team

Just like every person has their own personality, every company has their own culture. Building a culture is a special process that can't be taken lightly. It's the responsibility of every team member (employee) to represent and foster the culture.

1: Extensive training

Every 520 team member, regardless of department, goes through four weeks of on-board training across various departments, including the Artist Loyalty Department. And because each 520 employee is trained in every department,we will never need to bring in extra labor during peak holiday periods. Instead, all employees voluntarily will work in different departments

2: The offer

Matthew Rix wants all of the 520 team members to be a good fit. Sometime during the training “the offer” to leave 520 will happen. Each team member will be offered a cash bonus to quit the company. If the team member does not feel 520 is a good fit, he or she can take the money and leave, no hard feelings, no questions asked.

3: Let your hair down

520 encourages personal expression in many ways. We want all team members to showcase to the world their unique and creative personality. Not just eternally with the confides of the company, but also with your online presence representing yourself and 520. "Have fun and embrace being a little weird".

4. Parties are essential

There was once a popular saying that ‘everybody loves a good party’ and we still believe that to be true. We will pay for success parties with all of our team members.

5: Recognition

520 does not put the customer first. In fact, 520 team members are the top priority. That may sound counter to decades-old business wisdom.

"It should go without saying, if the person who works at your company is 100 percent proud of the brand and you give them the tools to do a good job and they are treated well, they're going to be happy." Sir. Richard Branson

6: Trust

One of the few goals at 520 is to answer 80 percent of artist emails within 2 hours. After that, the clock is off. We want our team members to spend as much time as necessary to achieve the best outcome for the artists.

7: Empowerment

Every team member at 520 is provided the tools and mentorship to become a senior leader within the company. But it is up to them to get there. Team members are free to make career-defining customer decisions, even if that choice is to send free event tickets or send personal greeting cards to an artist they connected with.

8: Well-being and Balance

All team members are required to take a designated amount of time dedicated to their own personal growth each month. This will be a block of time that is trusted to each team member for studying up on an interest they have or reading a book on personal growth. Then that team member gets to teach everyone in the company what they learned.

8: Never Grow Up

Work, we believe, needs to be fun, educational and something that makes you so excited that you jump out of bed each morning. It should be something that makes you grow. So screw the traditional 9-to-5 job. Instead, get paid to play, create, learn and grow. It’s like being a child again. But with a salary.

10: The Culture

520's Culture is the big attraction and we work hard to foster it. No one at 520 is to important for their fellow team members and all team members are encouraged to share their happiness in the 520 happiness log.
